Creates a citation for a Twitter/X post

Template parameters[Edit template data]

This template prefers inline formatting of parameters.

Author	author	Username of the poster (optional - will be parsed from URL if not provided, but required for URLs like twitter.com/i/web/status/...)	String	optional

Parameters

• url - The URL of the tweet (required)
• author - Username of the poster (optional - will be parsed from URL if not provided, but required for URLs like twitter.com/i/web/status/...)
• date - Date of the tweet in YYYY-MM-DD format (optional)

Notes

This template is for citing posts from the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. The template will automatically parse the username from the URL if it's in the format x.com/username/status/... or twitter.com/twitter.com/username/status/... For URLs in the format twitter.com/i/web/status/..., you must provide the author parameter manually.
