Taniguchi Airi

たにぐち あいり

Taniguchi Airi (谷口たにぐち愛季あいり) is the namesake of the Airi Taniguchi EAM, and more importantly, a member of the Japanese idol group Sakurazaka46.

Biography

Taniguchi Airi was born in Yamaguchi on April 12, 2005. She joined Sakurazaka46 as part of its 3rd Generation in January 2023. She's known for being one of the prettiest and more talented members of the group.

Airi Taniguchi EAM

On June 14, 2025, a 246-character EAM was broadcast over HFGCS frequencies.

The NEET INTEL transcription card for this EAM posted to X used a screenshot from a recent episode of Soko Magattara, Sakurazaka? as its background image. Taniguchi featured prominently in this screenshot and so was visible despite the mess of letters and numbers superimposed over her. As it happened, the broadcast occurred during a period of increased interest in OSINT (owing to everyone wondering whether or not the US was about to strike Iran and looking for any evidence they might do so) and so both the tweet and the image enjoyed a moment of virality, with the transcription image shared across news aggregates internationally.

After the fact, and regardless of whether or not anyone else wants to call it that, True HFGCS Experts refer to this particular message as the Airi Taniguchi EAM.
